The Most Wonderful Time of The Year || feat. Anthropologie

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Yo, Michael Bublé, where you at? . . . but seriously, have you guys heard his Christmas album because it’s fire. Fire right? That’s what all the ‘cool’ kids are saying these days. Speaking of kids, being a kid around Christmas was the chet. Leaving out cookies for an overweight dude with a white beard and belly, and carrots for his reindeer that you really wanted to be your house pet. The lights, the trees, everything was bigger, brighter, and lovelier. But as I’ve gotten older and am now from the outside looking in, Christmas as a kid could come as a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it.

It’s easy (especially as a child because you’re oblivious to the outside world) to get wrapped up in the greed of the holidays. The “I want this for Christmas”, and “don’t you want to know what I WANT”. The list goes on and on . . . literally.

I can honestly say it’s taken me 25 years to get to this point. 25 years to get to the point where I literally want nothing for Christmas, and I just want to be with the people I love the most. I don’t care about receiving gifts, or giving gifts for the matter, unless it’s investing in the simple gift of spending time together, investing in a yummy dinner with a side of good conversation, and an abundance of laughter. Life is such a precious gift in and of itself, and on top of that a healthy life, full of love, dreams, and so much promise, why should we want anything other than just that.

Instead of focusing on everything you don’t have, and everything you want for Christmas, try and be content with everything you have been blessed with during this Christmas season. This year is coming to a close, and whether you look back on 2017 and think “wow what a year”, or “wow what a waste”, it’s how you finish in the end that matters most. Finish strong with a happy heart filled with gratitude, understanding, and grace.  shop these looks now
