Okay . . . we’re done, but IT’S BEEN AWHILE! Hi again! We’re coming in guns blazing with our first write up for our 2nd annual March Madness. We are beyond stoked to introduce you guys to F45, mainly because we have been getting non-stop questions. What does the actual workout consist of? Is it a good workout? Where is it?
Instead of sliding into your guys’ DM’s all the time (which don’t get us wrong, always makes our days) we wanted to feature this kickass studio as our numero uno pick to kick off March Madness right!
Let’s chat F45, shall we?
What is F45?
First of all, let’s get this out of the way. The F stands for Functional Training, and the 45 stands for the total time of class. Yup, that’s right! Each class is only 45 minutes long, and oh my gosh it’s the most challenging 45 minutes of your day, but also the most rewarding!
There are no levels at F45, you create your own. Each class is designed for high-intensity interval training, but you make it as hard as you want. Some days it’s amazing to push your limits, lift heavier, and move faster. Other days you may want to modify, and take it easy. It’s all about listening to your body and finding what works best for you on that day, and every day!
F45 originally started in Australia (wassup, wassup!) and slowly transitioned over to the States, being placed only in beach city areas. Don’t worry, they will expand into LA very soon. With that being said, every workout is the same in every city, state, and country! For example, my sister lives in Australia, she takes class at F45 regularly, and she’s always one day ahead of me. I always ask her, “Ok, how was the workout today?” and “oh my gosh, did you do Brooklyn on Friday?”. It makes for an incredible community! Even though you are worlds away, you can still relate on one level no matter what.
This brings me to my next point. Each workout for the day has a name (I just used the example of ‘Brooklyn’ above), and each workout is different everyday. You’re never doing the same thing!
Monday, Wednesday, Friday — Cardio based
Tuesday, Thursday — Weight training
Saturday — combined 60 min class
Some say the studios are small because they are just one big rectangle of a room, but we beg to differ. The amount of space you need to actually slay a workout is not that big, and since you usually only have a 15-20 second rest to move stations, it makes it heaps easier to maneuver!
We love our studio in Newport Beach! It’s filled with motivating and friendly trainers who are there to help YOU be better! They walk around during the 45 minutes to correct form, help with any modifications, or push you just a little bit more than you would push yourself. You start to create a bond with them as if they were just your personal one-on-one trainer.
Lastly, but definitely NOT least, they BLAST music whilst you workout. Weight training days at the Newport Beach studio usually always consists of old school gangster rap, and cardio based days mainly focus on music that will get that heart rate goin’! Did I mention there’s a DJ that comes every Saturday as well? Sounds pretentious I know, but honestly the one that comes to the Newport Beach studio is LIT. Instead of walking from station to station, I always find myself dancing, not like that’s really a shock or anything.

Is it even worth it?
If you’re looking to switch up your workout routine, and incorporate more weights, F45 will change your life. I’m not being dramatic either!
I love my body, we love our bodies, but I have truly seen a difference after attending F45 just 2-3 times a week on top of my other training for about almost 3 months now. I am stronger, and have toned and tightened my body in areas that have been driving me NUTS (we all have them).
It’s affordable, and THE FIRST 2 WEEKS ARE UNLIMITED AND FREE! You’re able to give it a fair shot for 2 weeks, and if you love it continue, and if you hate it no harm, no foul. The choice is yours.

The only way you’re going to get change is if you get off your bum and do something about it. Take it from us, F45 will give you that change, and c’mon . . . it’s literally 45 minutes of you life. No excuses.
